Dear Smith,
I’m so sorry to hear/ learn of your accident. Your family tell me that you are progressing nicely, and that you will be out of hospital in about ten days. I am certainly relieved to know that.
In the next day or two, you will receive a little package from me. I hope you like it, and that it will help you to pass the time more pleasantly. If there is anything that I can do for you, please do not hesitate to tell me.
